Bank robbed in downtown St. Catharines

On Nov. 8 at 11:16 a.m., Niagara Regional Police Service officers assigned to 1 District (St. Catharines / Thorold) responded to the Bank of Montreal, located at 31 King St., in the City of St. Catharines regarding a robbery that just occurred.

Upon arrival, officers determined a male suspect entered the bank and demanded cash from the teller. 

The suspect received an undisclosed amount of Canadian currency and fled the bank on foot. 

No employees or customers inside the bank received any physical injuries.

Detectives assigned to the 1 District Criminal Investigative Branch have assumed carriage of the investigation. 

They are being assisted by members from the Forensic Services Unit.

The suspect is described as follows:

  • Male
  • White
  • 30-40 years
  • 5’5” tall
  • Thin build
