Arrest made in Niagara Falls robbery

Police say the man attempted to steal items from a gas station on Friday and, when confronted by staff, threatened the clerk with a knife

At approximately 3:30 p.m. on Friday May 21, 2021, 2 District (Niagara Falls) uniform officers were called to a gas station in the area of Stanley Ave and North St in the City of Niagara Falls following the report of a robbery.

Investigation determined that a male suspect entered the gas station and attempted to steal several items.  When confronted, he allegedly threatened the clerk with a knife before fleeing the scene.

Officers were able to quickly locate the male in the area and placed him under arrest.

33-year-old Justin Crossley of Niagara Falls is facing the following charges:

  • Robbery contrary to Section 344(1)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Failure to comply with probation order contrary to Section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada

Crossley was held in custody pending a video bail hearing on Saturday May 22, 2021 at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse in the City of St. Catharines.
