Arrest made in Lincoln sexual assault investigation

In March of 2021, detectives with the Sexual Assault Unit, of the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS), began an investigation into a sexual assault that occurred in the Town of Lincoln.

Investigation revealed that a female in her 80s had an interaction with a male online through the dating app ‘Zoosk’. The unknown male identified himself as a 77-year-old male named ‘Hag’. After gaining the females trust, the male requested to meet in person. As a result, the female was sexually assaulted by the male.

On April 16, 2021 in the City of Niagara Falls, Ahmed Hagras (38 years old) of North York, Ontario, was arrested and charged with the following offences of:
    •    Sexual assault
    •    Fail to comply with probation
    •    Obstruct justice

Hagras was held in bail and is expected to appear in court on April 16, 2021.

Hagras is known to be active on the following dating apps with the user handle “Hag”:
    •    Zoosk
    •    Our Time

Through the course of their investigation, detectives have reason to believe there are further victims.
