Arrest made in disability fraud estimated at over $150,000

On July 25, 2018, the Niagara Regional Police Financial Crimes Unit was contacted by the Niagara Region Ontario Disability Support Program regarding possible fraudulent criminal activity.

Detectives from the Financial Crimes Unit conducted an extensive investigation and subsequently arrested Dianna Nottingham on Feb. 12, 2019, in the City of Niagara Falls.

The sum of the alleged fraud is estimated at $153,026.18.  Nottingham is charged with the alleged offences of:

  • Fraud over $5,000 (1 count)
  • Laundering proceeds of crime (1 count)
Nottingham's next court appearance is Feb. 19, 2019, at the Robert S. K. Welch Courthouse in St. via video.
