Another arrest made in Fort Erie double homicide investigation

The Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) Homicide Unit detectives continue to investigate the murders of 20-year-old Juliana Pannunzio and 18-year-old Christine Crooks.

As a result, on Monday, Aug. 30, 2021, 29-year-old Heidi Bahler of Scarborough, Ont. was arrested and is now facing the following charges:

  • accessory after the fact to murder contrary to section 240 of the Criminal Code
  • obstruct justice contrary to section 139(2) of the Criminal Code

Bahler is currently being held in custody pending a court appearance on Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2021 at the Robert S.K. Welch Court House in St. Catharines.

The Niagara Regional Police Service would like to thank members of the public for their continued cooperation and assistance in this matter. This investigation remains ongoing and no further information will be released at this time.
