Alleged getaway driver in gas station robbery surrenders

Three suspects in Grimsby robbery still at large, including 24-year-old Marcus Roy of Hamilton; police have not been able to identify two other suspects

The armed robbery investigation related to the Petro Canada Gas Station that occurred on Aug. 1, 2022, at 424 South Service Road, in the City of Grimsby continues to be ongoing by Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) detectives assigned to 8 District Criminal Investigative Branch.

On Aug. 7, 2022, Rebecca Collingwood (26 years) of Hamilton, who is alleged to have been the driver of the red get-away car, turned herself into Niagara Regional Police and was arrested.  She was charged with one count of robbery involving a firearm.

Collingwood was held for a bail hearing that took place on Aug. 9, 2022.  She was remanded into custody and re-appeared on Aug. 10, 2022, in bail court.  She has subsequently been released from custody with future court dates.

Marcus Roy (24 years) of Hamilton remains wanted for the Criminal Code offences of:

  • Robbery
  • Fail to comply with probation order

Detectives continue to appeal to members of the public for assistance identifying suspect No. 2 and suspect No. 3 outlined in the attached photo.
