At approximately 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2020, 1 District (St. Catharines/Thorold) uniform officers were called to the area of Maitland Street and Colborne Street in the City of Thorold following the report of a house fire.
A 16-year-old person was located inside the home with critical injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment before being taken to an out of town hospital.
A 70-year-old female was also transported to hospital for treatment of minor physical injuries.
This incident remains under investigation by officers from 1 District detective office in cooperation with the Ontario Fire Marshall.
