Second GTA man charged in London, Ont., woman's death, investigation continuing

LONDON — Police in London, Ont., have charged a second man with first-degree murder in the death of a woman in the city last year.

Lynda Marques, a 30-year-old nurse, was shot while parked in the driveway of her northwest London home on Sept. 10.

Police have said a car with three suspects had driven to Marques' home on the night she died and two of the suspects fired shots into her car.

Police say Osman Ali Afandy, a 23-year-old man from the Greater Toronto Area, was arrested in Regina, Sask., on Wednesday and faces a first-degree murder charge in Marques' death.

Last week, police arrested another GTA man, 18-year-old Ammar Patel, and charged him with first-degree murder in the woman's death.

Police say their investigation is continuing and anyone with information about the case is asked to contact the force.
