After a brief illness, Ruth passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her three daughters. She is survived by her brother Alan (Clarene) and her daughters Fiona (Ian), Cynthia (Rick) and Melanie (Chris). Ruth loved spending time with her six grandchildren Adam (Shelby), Andrew (Rita), Emily (Nick), Caroline, Liam and Colin. She was also blessed with four great-grandchildren: Bailey, Aubrey, Bronson and Oakley. There are many happy memories of time spent around the dining room table as she enjoyed cooking and hosting family holidays. She was an avid fan of classical music concerts, ballet performances and political discussions. Until her illness, she was a vibrant, healthy person who kept fit with walking and Aquafit classes.
As per Ruth’s wishes, there will be a private family service. As an expression of sympathy, donations can be made to Community Cares, St. Catharines/Thorold Food Security Program.
