Sandra Moss

Our wee Mum died on the anniversary of her own mother’s passing after a lion-hearted battle with lung cancer. Sandra Moss (Brown) born on the 15th of January 1952 of Shettleston Scotland, breathed her last breath in the early morning hours of January 23rd, 2022, in the safety and love her of her eldest daughter, Deborah Dancer at St. Catharines hospital. We had just celebrated her 70th birthday. She leaves behind her second born daughter, Carole Moss (Scott Curran) and most precious of all, her third born daughter, Jennifer Moss to whom she provided the utmost care and royal treatment.

Though her daughters were her greatest source of pride, they were no match to her grandchildren. Sandra relished her role as Gran to Hunter and Audrey Cuthbert and Gwyneth and Calvin Curran. She taught them the importance of life’s simple pleasures like always having goodies in the cupboards, buying the thing you want but don’t need and wearing your thoughts on your face. Left with decades of colourful memories are her siblings: Margaret Evans, Irene Stewart, Robert Brown, Tom Brown (Rosemary), Catherine Brown and her many nieces and nephews who mourn her from Scotland, England and Australia. Lighting her way to the other side are her Mum, Catherine Brown (Galbraith); brother, Billy Brown; baby Brown triplets; niece, Michele Cochrane and sister-in-law, Isobel Brown. Mum was a talented seamstress who most enjoyed a day’s outing to Niagara-on-the-lake, early morning coffee, a good crime show and a proper curry dinner.

What little she had; she gave away. There will be a private celebration this weekend with her immediate family. This spring, we will hold a service for friends and family. In Mums memory, donations can be made to Lung Cancer Canada https://www.lungcancercanada.ca/ Sandra was an exceptionally brave and strong woman who’s love for her family will be felt for generations. You will forever be missed. Goodnight, Mum.
