It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our father on October 20, 2022 at 77 years of age. Father of Margelaine Langlois-Bell and Shane Langlois and his wife Karen (nee Ruczay) Langlois. Grandfather of Payton Bell and his wife Jessica (nee Wilson), Cassondra, Nolan, and Adelyn Langlois. Great-grandfather of Emery Langlois. He will be remembered by his wife Diana (nee Wilson).
Gilbert is survived by two of his siblings: Murielle and Edward Langlois; he is one of twelve children all born in Granada Quebec. He’s predeceased by his parents, Francois and Elain (nee Gauthier) Langlois. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and their families.
Gilbert moved to Welland for work. He was sought after for his extensive knowledge and great work ethic in the drywall community. He continued to work until the later years of his life. Dad was a very proud man and did not want to rely on anyone else. On his off time he enjoyed his yearly moose hunting trips to Elk Lake, Ontario with his brothers. Dad also had a love for Bingo and stopping to enjoy wings with the family afterwards. He was fondly known as "GRUMPY" to the grandchildren.
We, the family, would like to extend our gratitude to Roger Robillard for opening his heart and helping our father when he needed it the most. Roger has been a life-long friend of Dad’s and his extended family.
He will always be remembered in our hearts as "GRUMPY".

In honouring Gilbert's wishes cremation has already taken place. Interment will take place at a later date with immediate family only.
