Peacefully, with his family by his side on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at Niagara Health St. Catharines Site in his 87th year.  Beloved husband of Franca for 63 years.  Caring, loving Dad of Fred (Marj), John, Liana (David) Blackmore, Michael (Kelly) and Christina (Carlo) Cecchini.  Loving and proud Nonno of Kelly (Jim) Krause, Michael John, Sean (Jenna), Melissa (Lee), Alexandra (Jordan) Grosman, Matthew, Adam (Casey), Samantha (Michael) Blackmore, Sydney Blackmore, Alyssa (Brent), Michael, Lukus Cecchini, Mia Cecchini and Olivia Cecchini, and 13 great grandchildren.  Predeceased by his parent Alfredo and Giovanna, sisters Marietta (Francesco), Dora (Michele), Lina (Michele) Norina (Vincenzo) and brother Saverio (surviving spouse Ida).  John is survived by his brother-in-law Joe (Fernanda) and sisters-in-law the late Fenice (surviving spouse Michael), Renata (Sidio) and Bruna (Pino) all of Italy.  He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, and neighbors.  John immigrated from Italy when he was 17 years old and went to work for the Town of Thorold for 12 years.  He then moved over to General Motors, Plant 2 in the foundry department where he stayed for 32 years.  John retired in 1996 and was able to enjoy 25 years of retirement.  Relatives and friends will be received on Monday, November 1, 2021 from 6:00 - 9:00 PM at BOCCHINFUSO FUNERAL HOME 2 Regent Street, Thorold.  A

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at OUR LADY OF THE HOLY ROSARY CHURCH 21 Queen Street South, Thorold on Tuesday, at 11:00 AM.  Rite of Committal Pleasantview Memorial Gardens.   All COVID-19 protocols will be followed.  If desired, donations in John’s memory may be made to the Walker Family Cancer Centre.  On-line condolences may be left at www.bocchinfusofh.com
