It is with shattered hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Jill Armstrong.  Cherished daughter of Rose Ann MacKenzie (Don) and Henk VanderBoon (Katharine).  Best friend and soulmate to Adam Lundy.  Devoted mother to Isaiah Armstrong, Olivia Armstrong and Annie Lundy.  Loving sister of Jon VanderBoon (Jamie) and Jodi Taylor (Ken).  She will be forever in the hearts of her nieces: Ella, Grace and Raina, and her nephews: Aidan, Matthew and Jaxon.  Loved by her mother-in-law, Terri-Lynn (Jim), step-sisters: Christine, Rhonda, Sherri and 23 aunts, uncles and 33 cousins.  Adored by her fur babies; Winston, Elliot, Finn, Lily, Bowie and Georgie.

As a child Jill, spent hours playing with Lego, a hobby that would resurface in the years she was raising her own children.  She was very friendly and outgoing throughout her school years, making friends easily and becoming a leader in many of her activities.  Basketball was her sport.  She played competitively while in high school and just for fun for the next 23 years.  Jill’s gift for music and singing was evident early on and she was happy to share that gift with everyone she knew.  Over the years she had joined worship teams, participated in stage productions and sang at the weddings of friends and family.  More recently she had joined an online community that records and shares performances and collaborations.  Her determination and commitment paid off when she graduated at the top of her class from Niagara College, becoming an RPN.  Her patients, and their families, appreciated the level of care and dignity they received from her.  Jill’s other hobbies include home design and improvement, painting, sewing, knitting and thrifting.  She loved traveling, daytrips and camping with her family.  If she didn’t answer the door it was because she was either working in the garden or relaxing by the pool.

In keeping with Jill’s wishes, cremation has taken place.  A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 26th at Mountainview Christian Reformed Church, 290 Main Street East, Grimsby, L3M 1P8.

Arrangements entrusted to Considerate Cremation & Burial Services, 26 Nihan Drive, St. Catharines (between Lake Street & Scott Street), 289-362-1144.  Online condolences may be made at CCBSCares.ca
