The family of Maria Arch of Thorold is saddened to announce the peaceful passing of our beloved wife, mom, oma, sister, aunt and friend. Maria passed away with her husband by her side, on their 55th wedding anniversary on Friday July 22, 2022, at the Greater Niagara General Hospital at the age of 88.
She will lovingly be remembered by her husband Vince; children, Sue (Bil) and Arlene; grandchildren, Logan and Darrien; as well as numerous siblings, relatives and friends. A woman of great courage, Maria left her homeland of Schoensee, Germany for an adventure of a life-time when she immigrated to Canada with Vince in 1966. Her zest for life brought much joy and laughter over the years to many. Maria took such pleasure in watching her two grandchildren grow-up and cooking and baking for family and loved ones. She was fun, out-going and a woman of insurmountable inner strength and resilience.
Friends will be received at the Bocchinfuso Funeral Home, 2 Regent Street, Thorold, from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on Saturday July 30, 2022. Funeral Liturgy outside of Mass will be celebrated in the Funeral Home, chapel at 12:00 p.m., followed by a private rite of committal at Lakeview Cemetery.
