WHL roundup: Tigers rally on road to outscore Bedard, Pats

REGINA — Bogdans Hodass scored twice and the Medicine Hat Tigers "held" Connor Bedard to four points as they defeated the Regina Pats 6-4 in Western Hockey League action on Sunday at the Brandt Centre.

Tomas Mrsic, Brayden Boehm, Andrew Basha and Pavel Bocharov also scored for the Tigers (19-21-7-1), who trailed 3-1 after the first period and 4-2 heading into the third.

Connor Bedard scored three goals for the Pats (22-21-1-1), while Zane Rowan netted a single.

The Tigers outshot the Pats 39-25.

CALGARY, Alta. — Owen Pederson's second goal of the game, at 2:42 of overtime, settled a superb game as the Winnipeg ICE edged the Calgary Hitmen 5-4.

PORTLAND, Ore. — Marek Alscher's goal at 3:09 of overtime lifted the Portland Winterhawks to a come-from-behind 4-3 victory over the visiting Spokane Chiefs.

Chaz Lucius scored with 17 seconds left in the third period as the Winterhawks tied the Chiefs 3-3 and forced overtime.

James Stefan and Ryan McCleary also scored for the Winterhawks (34-8-2-1), who outshot the Chiefs 45-28.

Jaren Brinson, Cade Hayes and Berkly Catton scored for the Chiefs (9-32-2-2).
