Unbalanced attack costs the Spartans

Jr. B Lacrosse action returns this Saturday in Thorold

The Spartans dominated the second period in last night's lacrosse action against the visiting Hamilton Bengals but that was the only bright spot.

The Bengals left Thorold with a 10-5 win under their belt.

The Spartans got four of their five goals in the second period with scoring from Sam LeClair, Blair Pachereva, MacGregor Allen, and James Ross. Connor Aquanno managed their final goal in the third period.

But the Bengals spread their scoring over all three periods to dominate the game, outshooting the Spartans 46-34 and doubling their offensive output. Bengals got a natural hat trick from Tanner Brenneke in the first period who added another in the second frame.

Keegan Kahn and Luke Robinson also tallied in the second. Robinson, Coltrane Tyson, Tye Argent and Jack Travossos added to their total in the third period.

Justin Rombough took the loss in the Spartan goal, allowing eight goals. Adam Brennan played the final 18 minutes and allowed two goals.

The next home game for the Spartans is at the Thorold Frank Doherty Arena, Saturday, May 18 at 7 p.m.
