Pelham captures Thorold tournament (5 photos)

Peewee OBA tournament ended today. Senior tournament and reunion next weekend.

When the dust settled on Sullivan Park this afternoon, Pelham emerged victorious in the Peewee ball tournament hosted by Thorold Legion minor baseball.

The finals saw the Pelham Panthers square off against The York River Dogs capping the tournament that began on Friday.

The Panthers jumped out to an early lead in the bottom of the first inning but The River Dogs evened things up in the top of the second.

But Pelham prevailed by taking the championship game by a 13-7 score.

The Thorold Legion peewees hosted teams from Whitby, Kitchener, Welland, York, Birchmount, Pelham and Stoney Creek in the OBA sanctioned tournament.

Next up the Thorold Credit Union Anchors will host the Senior OBA tournament next weekend.

A highlight during the tournament will feature a call by Legion ball executives to all formers players, officials, volunteers and families to return for a reunion being held at McMillan Park, Friday August 30 between 6 and 10 p.m.
