The Peewee Select team is coming off a successful season and, last night, added some fun to it as well.

The team started the season with a 2-0 win over the Burlington Bulldogs and it set them off in the right direction, building up their confidence.

Two battles against Niagara Falls provided highlights. Thorold came out on top the first game 5-3. In the next bout, both teams had the privilege of playing at the Meridian Centre, home of the Ice Dogs, but the Falls squeaked one in to win 1-0.

The Select team travelled to compete in the Hespeler Olympics during the Christmas break, winning three straight and advancing to the semis but their quest for a championship ended there.

Last night the team challenged their dads to test their skills. The kids definitely showed them who was boss with a final score of 25-6 over the ‘old’ guys. Now the team is preparing for the Select Winterfest Tournament in Stoney Creek in February. Thorold fans, family and friends wish them luck in their quest.

The team includes: Dominic Rapone, Sam Kramar, Cole Kelly, Jaxxon Long, Ryder Boekestyn, Wesley Dionne, Hayden Maynard, Layton England, Michael Scalzi, Matthew Sorley, Matthew Castellan, Chase Coppola, Antonio Dedivitiis and Peyton Sonnenberg.
