London leapfrogged Welland and moved into first place following a 14-6 win over the Jackfish Saturday evening.

Keith Kandel went 4-for-6 in the Majors’ 21-hit attack with three RBI and two runs. Andrew Lawrence drove in two on a pair of hits, Cleveland Brownlee and Robert Mullen each had an RBI, Starling Joseph went 3-for-6 with an RBI and three runs, Gibson Krzeminski singled twice, doubled scored three times while driving in a run, Daniel Perrier went 3-for-5 with two RBI and a run, Kieran Bowles singled twice and scored twice and Jakob Newton added an RBI off the bench.

Jose Arias (6-0) went six innings for the win. He gave up five runs on six hits with three walks and eight strikeouts.

Chris Boatto (0-3) took the loss, allowing seven runs (five earned) on 10 hits over 4.1 innings. He walked one and didn’t register a strikeout.

For Welland, James Smibert went 3-for-4 and drove in a run. Matt Hilderbrandt drove in two of Welland’s four first-inning runs, Brandon Nicholson singled, doubled and had two RBI, Matteo Porcellato scored three times and Hogan Brown singled twice.

London improved to 14-5, and Welland fell to 14-6.
