Legends of Lacrosse tournament brings top teams to Thorold

Tournament finals take place this afternoon Sunday, May 26

Twenty of the top teams in Ontario competed in 'A' division lacrosse at both Thorold arenas this weekend.

The 3rd annual Legends of Lacrosse tournament brought high-level play from tyke, novice and peewee players.

The tournament kicked off Friday and continues with championship games taking place today, Sunday, at 1 p.m., and Monday.

Ben Scott and Thorold native Bob Fisher have been casting a wide net to capture more interest from local youth in the sport.

"I'm a Thorold guy," Fisher told ThoroldNews, "so I'm trying to grow the game."

With both Thorold arenas hosting as the main hub of this weekend's tournament, Fisher said the Jack Gatecliff Arena in St. Catharines will also be used for some games.
