The Merritton Alliance travelled up the escarpment to face the Thorold Anchors at their home field in McMillan Park and returned home with a convincing 10-2 win in men’s senior baseball.

Dan Boekestyn and Dylan Dempsey each had one hit and one run scored on three at-bats for Thorold. Jake Maxwell got both RBIs for Thorold.

The Anchors used three pitchers on the evening with Adam Bartlett allowing five hits in four innings, while Ryan Dalley allowed three hits in one inning and Luke Edwards allowed five hits in two innings and took the loss.

Thorold also committed four errors while the Alliance had none.

Merritton got two hits and two runs from Adam Hope, Kyle Parris and Matt Kerr while Matt Brady added one run on two hits. They scored four runs in the final inning to seal the victory.

The Alliance got 10 runs on 13 hits while Thorold managed two runs on six hits.

The next home game for the Thorold Anchors is Tuesday, June 4 at McMillan Park with a 7:30 p.m. start.
