It was a well fought, close game in Thorold last night with the home town Blackhawks outshooting the visiting Niagara Falls Canucks by a slim 32-31 margin.

But on the scoreboard it was the Canucks who came away with a two-goal edge, taking the game 5-3.

Niagara Falls scored two in the first period and another pair in the second, and adding their final tally in the third period.

Joel Chauvin scored a pair for Thorold and Owen Holmes added the other.

The three stars were Andrew Bruno and Ryan Donovan of the Canucks as each had a pair of goals for the visitors. Chauvin was named the game's third star.

Former Thorold goalie Anthony Tremont blocked 29 shots to get the win for the Canucks. Noah Fortuna took the loss in the Thorold goal.

Prior to last night, the Hawks had won three of their last four at home.

Thorold’s next home game is next Thursday, Dec. 5 at 7:07 p.m. Their opponents will be the league-leading Caledonia Corvairs.
