Caledonia continues to dominate Golden Horseshoe Jr. B as they hammered Hawks with 42 shots to take a 5-2 win in Thorold last night.

Thorold replied with 25 shots and goals by Ben Varga and and Austin Jensen but the game was never in doubt for the visiting Corvairs.

They jumped out to a 1-0 lead on a goal by Dylan D’Agostino and added others by Tanner Brennecke and Nick Giunta to take a 3-1 first-period lead.

The team exchanged goals in the second period with Ryan Littlejohn scoring for Caledonia and Jensen getting the Thorold marker.

Giunta added another in the third period to finish the scoring. Penalties were nearly even with Caledonia getting 4 and Thorold suffering 3 infractions.

Aidan Hughes got the win in the Corvairs' goal while Noah Fortuna took the loss for Thorold.

Caledonia sits in first place, leading second-place Niagara Falls by 13 points while Thorold sits in 5th place with 42 points.

Thorold visits Niagara Falls tonight for a game with their next home game Thursday, Jan. 15 against the fourth-place Hamilton Kilty Bs. Game time is 7:07 p.m.
