Thorold man arrested after allegedly making death threats

Niagara Regional Police made an arrest early this evening

At least seven police vehicles descended upon the corner of Albert Street and Ekins Lane in Thorold late this afternoon.

Shortly afterward, detectives with 1 District Criminal Investigations Branch (CIB) of the NRP provided the following information to the Thorold News:

Following an investigation, a male was arrested this evening in regards to threats made on social media. 

31-year-old Cody Weldon of Thorold is facing the alleged charge of:

Threatening Death via social media (Sec. 264.1(1)(a)CC)

Weldon is currently being held in custody pending a bail hearing on March 3.
