The City of Thorold has issued a ban on all open-air burning due to current dry weather conditions in the area.
The ban is a result of the high levels of air pollution that have developed from the ongoing forest fires in Quebec and Northern Ontario. Poor air quality is expected to persist into the weekend.
The City joins other municipalities in Niagara in banning all open-air burning until further notice. Additional updates on the ban will be provided on the City’s website and social media channels.
