Kids, grab your pails, put on your rubber boots, and head to the Port Robinson Community Centre.

On Saturday, April 20, the volunteers from Port Robinson Proud will be sponsoring a free community Easter egg hunt and breakfast, scattering Easter eggs all over the centre’s lawn for little tykes to discover.

Last year’s continental breakfast buffet was a big hit, so once again, the table will be chock full of delicious and healthy choices for appetites of all sizes.

A photo booth, face painting and crafts will keep little ones smiling, and kids can visit with the Easter Bunny and hop aboard the Station 3 fire truck.

As always, all the day’s events and treats are free, but the friends of Port Robinson Proud will have a donation jar handy.

Organizer Marty Wilson said all contributions have helped renovate the community centre, which is in the process of being replaced “piece by piece.”

Eventually, she said, “The entire hall will be done.”

Nearby staff at NTEC recently donated flower beds to the centre, and Wilson encouraged anyone who has an extra hosta, or other plant they can spare, to bring it to the Easter event to help beautify the centre.

The egg hunt will run rain or shine, and the fun gets underway at 9 a.m.
