If you are a renter trying to save a buck, it would be wise to stay out of St Catharines, that made the top 10-list of Canada’s most expensive cities for renters.
With a median rent of $1,500 for a one-bedroom apartment, the Garden City made the 8th place out of 10 on the list, just above Hamilton, with $1,480, and below Ottawa, with $1,500.
The 2021 median rent is an increase with a climb of more than 15 percent annually.
The data was comprised in the annual Canadian Rent Report by property website Zumper.
Vancouver and Toronto made the top two, with a median rent of $2,130 and $1,800.
On the lower end of Zumper’s comparison was St John’s, NL, with a median rent of $840 for a one-bedroom apartment, coming in under Regina, SK, with $900.
