Shoppers buy books in support of St. Andrew's

Shoppers swarmed St. Andrew's Church, searching for books and satisfying their sweet tooth

Readers came out in full force to fill bags with books at the St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church fundraiser Saturday morning.

"We've had lots of people going through," said Rev. Ken MacQuarrie; "tons of response for the request of (book) donations, and lots of help keeping it tidy."

Shoppers swarmed the church hall, scanning tables stacked with volumes that ranged in genre from crime, war and mystery to travel, pets, literature, parenting and gardening, among many others.

Organizer Shaunna MacQuarrie said that any leftover books will be used to stock the Little Free Library, to be installed on church premises in the near future.
