Ontario reports 687 new COVID cases Tuesday

Public Health Ontario reported 687 new COVID cases today.

The latest updates noted 560 recoveries and three new deaths. 

The Nov. 30 updates provided by the province's public health agency and the ministry of health also reported the following data:

  • 6,940 active cases, up from 6,816 reported yesterday. 
  • 266 people are hospitalized with COVID-19.
  • There are 137 COVID-positive patients in the ICU plus another 16 patients no longer testing positive for COVID-19.
  • There are 83 COVID-positive patients on ventilators and another 13 patients on ventilators no longer testing positive for COVID. 
  • 11,259,729 Ontarians (about 75 per cent of the total population) have been fully vaccinated. 89 per cent of eligible Ontarians have at least one dose of vaccine.
  • Among the new cases are 310 unvaccinated people, 19 partially vaccinated, and 308 fully vaccinated individuals. 50 cases were reported with no vaccination status information.
  • Among the hospitalized cases (not in the ICU) are 78 unvaccinated, 10 partially vaccinated, and 48 fully vaccinated people. 
  • In the ICU are 57 unvaccinated, five partially vaccinated, and 19 fully vaccinated cases. 
  • The seven-day average incidence rate by vaccination status is 12.6 cases per 100,000 unvaccinated people, 5.1 cases per 100,000 partially vaccinated people, and three cases per 100,000 fully vaccinated people.
  • The province reported 21,476 tests were processed yesterday, resulting in a three per cent positivity rate.
  • Today's new cases include 34 newborns to four-year-olds, 117 kids ages five to 11, 40 youth between 12 and 19 years old, 212 people between 20 and 39 years old, 175 people between 40 and 59 years old, 101 people between 60 and 79 years old, and seven people over 79 years old.

Public Health Ontario has confirmed 618,490 cases of COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic, and reported 601,550 recoveries and 10,000 deaths.

Since the start of the pandemic, 31,321 people have been hospitalized with COVID and 6,187 of them were in intensive care units.

The cumulative average incidence rate in the province is 4,197.7 cases per 100,000 people in Ontario.

Ontario's average weekly incidence rate last week was 35.7 cases per 100,000 people, which is up by 15.2 per cent compared to the week of Nov. 14.
