Niagara sees 9 new cases of Covid-19 reported on Monday

Niagara Region Public Health reported 9 new cases of Covid-19 on Monday.

Following 16 recoveries, the number of active cases is now 148 across Niagara.

St Catharines continues to have the biggest number, with 57 active cases.

Thorold has seen a considerable drop in recent weeks, reporting 9 confirmed active cases on Monday.

The death toll remained unchanged after the weekend at 434.

Niagara Health reports 14 patients hospitalized with confirmed Covid-19.

5 of those individuals are being treated in the ICU.

10 are unvaccinated, and 4 fully vaccinated.

On Monday morning, 72.7 percent of residents in Niagara were fully vaccinated.

The outbreaks of Covid-19 at Maple Park Lodge in Fort Erie and Heidehof Home for the Aged were still listed as active on Monday.
