Special weather statement in effect for:
- Niagara Falls - Welland - Southern Niagara Region
- St. Catharines - Grimsby - Northern Niagara Region
Thunderstorms racing quickly east across the region tonight will contain frequent lightning and brief heavy downpours with local rainfall amounts of 15 to 30 mm.
Small hail and wind gusts to 60 km/h are possible.
Motorists should be prepared for sudden low visibility in heavy downpours. Ponding of water is possible on poorly drained sections of highways.
