Growing the game in Thorold (3 photos)

Where the Thorold arenas sat mostly vacant over the summer months, they are now housing a growth in area lacrosse

Lacrosse continues to expand in Thorold and a "Grow the Game," event last night in the Frank Doherty arena officially marked the phenomenon.

Mayor Terry Ugulini was on hand to welcome the minor league to Thorold.

Going into last night's games the St. Catharines Athletic Peewees and Midgets were both enjoying an undefeated season so far.

Hosting Six Nations teams they gained a split. The Athletics took a 5-3 win in the Peewee division to continue their undefeated streak.

But Six Nations defeated the St. Catharines Midgets 4-3, to put an end to their perfect-season aspirations.
