City to open online voting help centres

Thorold residents have many resources available to them for the upcoming election, including the option to vote online or in-person, and active help centres throughout the entire online voting period.

The online voting period begins Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at 10 a.m. and ends Saturday, October 22, 2022 at 8 p.m. Eligible voters can securely vote from anywhere and from any device by using their Voter Identification Number and unique pin number, located in the voter letter they will receive in the mail. This unique pin number may only be used by the elector identified in the letter. Voters will be asked to confirm their identity before they can vote.

Help centres will be available throughout the city for residents’ convenience every day during the online voting period, with the exception of Sundays. Residents are encouraged to visit a help centre if they require assistance with online voting, if they wish to register to vote, or if they have any questions about the process.

Voters are welcome to visit the following help centres during the online voting period:

  • Oct. 11, 10 a.m.–8 p.m., Thorold Public Library, 14 Ormond St. N.
  • Oct. 12, 4–8 p.m., Rolling Meadows Bible Church, 54 Sunset Way
  • Oct. 13, 10 a.m.–6 p.m., Darlene Ryan Port Robinson CC, 40 Cross St.
  • Oct. 14, 10 a.m.–4 p.m., City Hall, 3540 Schmon Pkwy
  • Oct. 15, 10 a.m.–4 p.m., Rolling Meadows Bible Church, 54 Sunset Way
  • Oct. 17, 10 a.m.–8 p.m., Darlene Ryan Port Robinson CC, 40 Cross St.
  • Oct. 18, 10 a.m.–8 p.m., Thorold Public Library, 14 Ormond St. N.
  • Oct. 19, 4–8 p.m., Rolling Meadows Bible Church, 54 Sunset Way
  • Oct. 20, 4–8 p.m., Thorold Community Activities Group, 131 Richmond St.
  • Oct. 21, 10 a.m.–4 p.m., City Hall, 3540 Schmon Pkwy
  • Oct. 22, 10 a.m.–4 p.m., Thorold Public Library, 14 Ormond St. N.

On October 24, 2022, eligible voters can vote in-person (only), between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m., at the following locations:

  • Darlene Ryan Port Robinson Community Centre, 40 Cross St.
  • Four Points by Sheraton, 3530 Schmon Pkwy
  • Rolling Meadows Bible Chapel, 54 Sunset Way
  • Seniors Centre, 8 Carleton St. S.
  • Thorold Community Activities Group, 131 Richmond St.

Voters are reminded to bring proof of identity and residency, as well as their voter letter to ensure they receive their ballot in a timely manner. If a resident forgets their voter letter on Election Day, they will still be able to register to vote, update their information, and vote, but the process may take longer.
