If you’ve always wanted to assume another identity, now is your chance.

Anyone who’s looking for an opportunity to break into show biz is welcome to try out for Thorold Community Theatre’s upcoming fall production, Nurse Jane Goes to Hawaii.

Parts up for grabs in the comical cast include Helga, the evil Russian physicist, and a Harlequin romance novelist, among others.

According to Theresa Chubak of TCT, the play is a farce, and calls for four female roles and three male roles. One of the women characters is in her 20s, while the other three women—and all three men—range in age from their mid-40s to mid-50s.

No prior acting experience is necessary, she said, adding that there are fight scenes and other fun tidbits of physical comedy required by some of the actors, such as “throwing cakes.”

Auditions will be held at Trinity United Church hall on Sunday, June 9, 2019 at 2 p.m. and Tuesday, June 11 at 7 p.m., with call-backs on June 13 at 7 p.m., if necessary.

Scripts will be given to aspiring actors at the auditions, said Chubak, but if anyone would like a copy ahead of time, they can contact her through email or call 905-932-6019.

Written by Allan Stratton and directed by Diana Burse, the curtain rises for Nurse Jane Goes to Hawaii on Nov. 8, 2019.

Trinity United Church is located at 15 Pine St. S. in Thorold.

More information is available on the theatre website.
