19 people are now hospitalized with COVID-19 in Niagara

The number of patients hospitalized with COVID-19 in Niagara is increasing, with 19 admitted on Friday, according to Niagara Health. Simultaneously, Public Health reported 118 new cases, bringing the number of active cases past 930.

Welland is seeing the highest number of known active cases with 238, followed by St Catharines with 220 and Niagara Falls with 155. Thorold now has 60 known active cases which is a slight increase from yesterday.

One new outbreak in an unspecified location was reported. There are 31 active outbreaks in total.

The death toll remained unchanged at 376.

On the vaccination side, over 100,000 doses have now been administered by Public Health.

Ontario reported over 4,000 confirmed cases on Friday, which has not been seen since January.
