121 new COVID-19 cases in Niagara on Friday

Just over 1,900 cases in Niagara remain active

NRPH reported 121 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday and 181 new resolved cases. There are now 1,924 known active cases in Niagara. 113 of those are reported in Thorold.

No new deaths were added to the current death toll which stands at 395.

Friday's number is an increase from just over 70 cases the day before.

NRPH also said two new outbreaks of COVID-19 had been detected. The list of healthcare outbreaks shortened further on Friday, with two homes now remaining on the list. Just over 27 percent of all cases are associated with an outbreak currently.

Niagara Health said as of yesterday afternoon that 59 patients were hospitalized with COVID-19.

Ontario reported just over 3,100 cases today, but cautioned that the numbers might not be accurate due to technical issues with data collection.
