TORONTO — Residents of Ontario's long-term care homes are pleading to be allowed to go outside.
Many say they've been confined to their rooms or floors since the pandemic began more than a year ago.
They say there's no health reason to keep them indoors, especially since almost all are vaccinated.
Studies also show the outdoors is much safer in terms of COVID-19 transmission than inside.
One lawyer says the confinement violates their charter rights and is illegal.
Activists say the provincial government has not responded to their pleas.
