One dead after pickup truck flips over in Wainfleet

Cause of the collision remains under investigation

On Nov. 23, 2023 at 5:01 p.m., 6 District (Port Colborne/Wainfleet) uniform officers with the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) responded alongside the Wainfleet Fire Department and Niagara Emergency Medical Service (NEMS) for a motor vehicle collision in the area of Regional Road 24 and Willford Road in the Township of Wainfleet.

Initial investigation has determined a 2013 black Dodge Ram pickup truck was travelling south on Regional Road 24 when the vehicle lost control, left the roadway and flipped over. 

Tragically, the driver of the pickup truck, a 49-year-old Wainfleet resident, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Detectives assigned to the NRPS Collision Reconstruction Unit have assumed carriage of the investigation. They are being supported by detectives from the NRPS Forensic Services Unit. The circumstances related to the cause of the collision remain under investigation.

Witnesses to the collision and motorists who were in the area with an operational dash-camera are encouraged to review their footage and contact the lead detective at 905-688-4111, option 3, badge 1009569 with any relevant information.
